Job Title: Barback / Busser — Speakeasy

Position Summary:
Support the bar and dining team by maintaining clean, stocked, and organized service areas; assist bartenders and servers during regular service and immersive mystery-dinner events; facilitate smooth, efficient guest service in a fast-paced, theatrical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prep and restock bar: glassware, garnishes, ice, mixers, backbar, napkins, straws, condiments.
- Clear and buss tables quickly and discreetly; reset for next guests.
- Support bartenders during service: fetch supplies, run beverages to servers, help with basic drink assembly under direction.
- Maintain floor cleanliness: sweep, mop, wipe surfaces, empty trash and recycling, clean spills immediately.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown for regular service and themed/mystery-dinner experiences (props, seating, table settings, special plating staging).
- Monitor and replenish server stations: coffee service, cutlery, to-go materials, menus.
- Handle glassware and dishware safely; operate dishwashing equipment when required.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation standards; adhere to venue policies and local alcohol regulations.
- Communicate clearly with bartenders, servers, and management; anticipate needs during scripted event moments.
- Help manage coat check or cloakroom during theatrical events.
- Maintain a professional, discreet presence that preserves the speakeasy atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience as a barback, busser, or similar fast-paced restaurant/bar role preferred.
- Comfortable working in dimly lit, theatrical settings and during interactive events.
- Strong stamina; ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and move quickly for entire shift.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and observation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and occasional late hours for events.
- Responsible, punctual, and able to follow directions and event scripts.
- Food handler’s card and/or local alcohol service certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Working Conditions:
